Comrade Ojong Ofut Ogar is a second time chairman of National Association of Nigerian nurses and midwives Cross River State council and treasurer of the Nigerian Labour Congress CRS.

Born on the 26th day of December 1965, an irrepressible talent who has made invaluable contributions to the history of humanity a quintessential leader astute unionist and nurse practitioner .

Beneath the rough exterior fulfillment of one's destiny lies in the practical desire to refine those qualities as a guarantee for self actualization. It is Shakespeare who is known for his postulations: “some are born great, some achieve greatness and yet others have greatness trusts on them”.

Significantly are his antecedents for social mobilization, team play, mediation, advocacy, burden of emancipation, humanity, unassuming mien, sociability and impeccable loyalty that has spawned him through the ranks of activism from his student days as secretary general NSNMAN, Unit secretary at cottage hospital Akpet, Unit Auditor 1 at federal neuro psychiatric hospital calabar, State financial secretary at NANNM CRSC (2003 – 2007), State treasurer NANNM CRSC (2007 – 2015), State Chairman NANNM CRSC 2015 to Date on a second tenure. He is also acting chairman Health Professionals Association CRS and treasurer of the Nigeria Labour Congress CRSC

As an administrative council member of NANNM for 17 years now his contributions and achievements include but are not limited to:

• stabilizing the financial Department of the Association with proper record keeping
• assistedly pioneering the Cross River State NANNM long term savings scheme
• promotion of sustainable accounting system and prudent Treasury
• supported the building of the comfort IMOKE Nurses house and the Nurses Estate Akim-Akim
• Commission the comfort Imoke nurse's house 2016
• operates a transparent teamplay and financial guideline adherence
• effective collaboration with NMA and hosting the fest NANNM/NMA joint meeting
• successfully executed an industrial action bordering on appointment of CHEW over gnosis at PHC level in CRS
• first union to donate palliative an IPC gadget to the government of the state and all the Nam units successfully organized nurses in private employed in CRS
• periodically organized and floated scientific accredited workshop by the NMCN and CEU attached
• Development of low-cost housing units for nurses of CRS currently at roofing level

As a man on a mission my mission statement is to take over and move the Association NANNM to greater sustainable and satisfactory developmental Heights are milestones admirable by our role models cherished by our generation and proud of by our successors
