Only 100 Active Cases Are At Isolation Centres’
Date Posted: 16/Jul/2020
Delta State government on Wednesday disclosed that only about 100 cases of active coronavirus (COVID-19) patients were in Isolation centers across the state. It also said that the remaining were self-isolating at their respective residents, with doctors attending to their medical needs.
The state further disclosed that the pandemic made mess of its economic projections, as a little over N30 billion was realised from internally generated revenues in the first half of the year, which prompted a review of political appointees’ emoluments and those of the state civil servants, whose issue was being discussed.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this in Asaba.
He restated the state’s determination to remain focused on delivering its policy of a ‘Stronger Delta’ in the next three years, adding that it would not be distracted despite the handiwork of some hirelings who are bent on derailing it through deliberate misinformation over alleged embezzlement of funds.
According to Aniagwu,” As a government we want to state it for the umpteenth time that we would not be distracted. “
