Our Nurses’ Response To COVID-19
Date Posted: 24/Mar/2020
Dear Nurse Colleagues,
Health care systems all around the world are experiencing challenging, anxious and stressful times as the Coronavirus infiltrates our communities in a way we are trying to come to grips with.
As professional registered nurses we are at the center of care in all our hospitals. I am aware of how hard you are all working to help improve our patients’ outcomes.
I applaud each and everyone of you for all your efforts especially under the circumstances we find ourselves.
You are at the frontline and you truly are everyday heroes.
Our state government under the able leadership of Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, is determined to ensure that we have more nurses and adequate equipment to make our jobs easier.
We are all in this fight together. We must continue to work with other health care professionals in providing the best health care possible for our patients.
You are all making amazing contributions to the response to COVID-19 and we need to continue to do so.
I want to thank you for your hard work and commitment. As we rise  to the challenge we must continue to work together and support each other.
Please stay safe.
Thank you and God bless.
Best wishes,
Kemi Ogunyemi
Commissioner IV
Lagos State Health Service Commission.
