Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria: Dissolution of the Existing Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) Zonal and State Committees

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria hereby expresses profound gratitude and appreciation to the Zonal Coordinators and State MCPDP Implementation Committees for the effective and successful implementation of the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPDP) in the states and Federal Capital for the past three years. The Council has observed with satisfaction that your efforts have helped in reshaping orientation or nurses and m1dw1ves towards cont1nu1ng education and also has enhanced their knowledge and skills for practice throughout the country.

For continuous efficiency and success of the programme, the Council has reviewed the implementation guidelines/strategies of the programme and is organizing another MCPDP orientation workshop to ensure that other qualified nurses in the country participate in the implementation and supervision of the programnIe as Zonal Coordinators and State Facilitators In the next dispensation.

In view of the above I am directed to convey to you the dissolution by the Council of all MCPDP Zonal and State Committees with effect from 31st December 2019. However, the outgoing committee should ensure that all planned MCPDP for 2019 are carried out as planned before the 31st  of December, 2019. The Council will provide further information on the new Zonal Coordinators and State facilitators of the programme.

Once again the Council appreciate and thank you for all your contributions toward promoting and maintaining excellence in Nursing Education and Practice
