Factors Influencing Nurses Knowledge Acquisition Of Diabetes Care And Its Management: A Qualitative Study

In this qualitative study, researchers identified and explored the factors that nurses perceive to influence their acquisition of knowledge in relation to diabetes care and its management in Saudi Arabia. 
Study participants were 16 nurses from different specialty areas at a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia. Using thematic analysis, data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and analyzed. In order to pursue the goal of continuous improvement in diabetes management in challenging acute care environments, good practice in diabetes care needs to be developed among nursing professionals. 
Understanding the complexity of factors that influence the acquisition and management of the knowledge of nurses in connection with diabetes care gives clinical nurses and nursing managers with guidance for future education, policy development and research.
