GENERAL IMFORMATION
. Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) situated in Ado-Ekiti is a Federal Government licensed non- profit private university.
 
. Location: The University is built on its permanent site on a 1300 hectares of land at an altitude of 1,500ft above sea level which provides ideal climate for learning activities and agriculture.
 
. Approval: The University obtained approval for all its courses and has since secured 100% accreditation for 14 programmes submitted to NUC in addition to professional  accredition for seven Engieering to programme COREN and accredition for computer programme by the Computer Professionals of Nigeria.
 
. Strutures on Ground: Fully air-conditioned bulidings for all colleges, modern hostel buildings for students, luxurious cafeerias, providing English and continental dishes , bottled water plant, bakery, printing press, laundry ect all manufactured by ABUAD and 192 flats for staff 
 
.Teaching facilities: Air-conditioned classroons; 14 sepaate laboratories for different department physical libraries with LexisNexis, academic on-line e-library, Law  Pavilion e- library and Compu-Law e-library full internet connectivity for all colleges, hostels, modern sporting facilities for soccer, tennis, hostels, volley ball, badminton, basketball and so on. 
 
Residential Status: The University is fully residential for all student and staff
 
Philosophy and Mission: To reform and provide functional education as well as to lead others in quality education, industry, service, character and discipline 
 
 
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following Academic positions:
 
Nursing:
1. Professor/Reader
 
i Basic degree in Nursing from reputable University, registrable with  Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria 
 
ii. A Ph.D. degree in a related field (Professional Health/Epidemiology). Ph.D. degree in Nursing will be an advantage 
 
iii. At least 9 years of teaching experience in University for the position of Reader, and demonstrate ability to supervise research projrcts.
 
2. Denior Lecturer
Applicants must possess the following:
 
i. Basic degree in Nursing from reputable University, registrable with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
 
ii Ph.D. Degree in related field (Professional Health Psychology). Ph.D.dergee in  Nursing will be an advantage 
 
iii. Adequate professional competence
 
iv. University Teaching and research experience of not less than six years.
 
v.  Demonstrate ability to supervise research projects.
 
3. Lecturer I
Applicants possess the following:
 
i Basic degree in Nursing in Nursing from reputable University, registrable with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. 
 
ii M.sc, in Nursing (Nursing Education, Maternal and Child Health, Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing)
 
iii Ph.D. in view (Medical/Surgical Nursing Maternal and Child Health Nursing; Community Health nursing, Mental health and Psychiatric Nursing.
 
4. Lecturer II
Applicants possess the following:
 
i. Basic degree in Nursing form reputable University; registrable with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
 
ii. M.Sc. in Nursing (Nursing Education, Maternal and Child Health, Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing)
 
iii. Ph.D. in progress (An advantage)
 
SALARY PACKAGE 
Salary and allowances which are personal and negotiable are higher than Federal Government consolidated unitary salary structure. Salary increment is based on productivity ands cOlltribution to the development of the University.'
 
RETIREMENT, PENSION AND OTHER WELFARE SCHEMES 
The University operates a contributory pension Fund as enacted by the Act of the Nation Assembly. It is mandatory for all staff to take part in the contributory  pension
 
scheme. The University shall pay 7 1/2 percent of the staff monthly basic salary to the pension fund while the staff shall pay 7 1/2 percent towards the fund. The
 
University has also put in place insurance scheme for all staff. A staff shall not be hindered by the University from drawing from the pension and insurance 
 
scheme in respective of the service status in the University.
 
In addtion, the Unversity offers highly subsidized accommodation facilities for staff on the campus with adequate water and electricity supply, sports and recreational
facilities in a quiet and serne environment.

xix. Names and adresses of three (3) referees who must have been closely associated with candidates/work experience one of which must be the head of department or Dean/Provost of the applicant.
 
REQUIREMENTS
2 Candidates applying for any of the positions are advised to request their referees to forward three (3) confidential reports on them directly to the Registrar. The reports should be duly marked "CONFIDENTIAL" in a sealed envelope.
