An Assistant Director of Nursing Services in the Imo state ministry of health has urged Registered nurses to go for the bachelors degree program in nursing as a basic professional requirement. she spoke at the just concluded Mandatory continous preparatory development program (MCPDP) for nurses with the theme: Nursing management of selected cases with nursing process approach, held at the villa marie guest house on wetheral road, Imo state.
The program was fully packaged with renowned resource persons like Mrs grace olumuyiwa, Mrs Iwenobinjo, Mrs Elsy Njemanze in attendance.
Participants were fully educated on current nursing trends and issues, The nurses were urged to be research oriented and practise evidense based nursing. As part of the program content, Detailed nursing lectures was delivered on nursing process, nursing intervention classification, nursing outcome classification and the use of the current NANDA list in diagnosis.
In closing, Nurses were updated on the upcoming ICN Quadrennial conference coming up in melbourne australia and the West african college of nursing (WACN) March conference in liberia
