Ogeah Commends Olarenwaju Over Completion of Nursing Staff Quarters
Date Posted: 13/Jan/2013

DELTA State Commissioner for Information, Chike Ogeah  Esq.,  has commended the continuity spirit demonstrated by the Transition Chairman, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Hon. Chinwe Monu-Olarenwaju for the completion of the Nursing Staff Quarter of the council health centre.

Ogeah while commending Olarenwanju during the commissioning of the Nursing Staff Quarter at the council secretariat noted that the major problem Nigeria has, is that most leaders do not believe in   leadership continuity as each of them fails to build on laid down projects but prefer owning their own project.

He noted it as, a wrong attitude and attributed it to weakness of the institution and said that people ought to consolidate on laid down policies of their predecessors and play vital roles that would impact on the lives of the people.

He said that Olarenwaju has demonstrated a very good leadership example by completing the project which will enhance healthcare delivery in the local government.  “I know her pedigree; she has a good road map and blue print that will impact positively on the lives of the people from her wealth of experience”, he added.

He urged the Transition chairman to come up with programmes in poverty alleviation, job creation and employment opportunities that would help in improving the lives of the people at the grassroots.

Olarenwaju said that she was moved to complete the project when on assumption of office noted that nurses posted from Abuja arrived, and had no accommodation.  She added that she had to partner with the office of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to ensure the completion of the project to enable the nurses serve the people better.

She noted that the fencing of the council secretariat had been constructed and security men employed to ensure security of lives and property.

She said that though the tenure of the transition committee is transient, assured that a legacy would be laid with emphasis on sanitation, improved health care delivery, peace and security in line with Governor Uduaghan’s three-point agenda.

Representative of the Asagba of Asaba, Ogbueshi John Iloba, the Auditor, Peoples Democratic Party (State) Chief Edwin Uzor and Senatorial Woman Leader, Ms. Kanwulia Omoko, commended the transition chairman and urged the staff of the LGA and members of transition committee to give her the required support to do more.
