Meet the young Nigerian nurse who has been selected to represent his country at the World health Assembly (WHA) young nurses event in Geneva-Switzerland.
Nuruddeen Abubakar Adam is a dedicated and enthusiastic young nurse leader, experienced in leadership and skilled at relationship building with community members and across organizations and team, with expertise in establishing rapport with young African nursing leaders from a variety of backgrounds.
He possess a strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to partner across organizations to meet the student's needs and concerned and working as a team, he also developed interest in volunteering and working with humanitarian organizations.
He has however attended many students' leadership conferences, workshops and certificate courses in global health and was always involved in a lot of extra curricular activities during his studies at the university.
Nuruddeen Abubakar Adamu graduated Recently from the prestigious Ahmadu bello university zaria, Department of Nursing sciences. The world health assembly young nurses event organizers were very impressed with his application and expertise after rigorous screenings and hereby select 30 of them in the whole Africa to work as Africa's representatives of this event.
Nursing Now is a three-year global campaign run in collaboration with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Nursing Now aims to improve health globally by raising the profile and status of nurses worldwide – influencing policymakers and supporting nurses themselves to lead, learn and build a global movement.
30 young nurses, representing all the WHO regions, have been invited to attend this event where they will learn what happens at the Assembly, why it is important and ways to influence outcomes. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with WHO staff and attend the World Health Assembly to listen to debates. Flights and accommodation for the event will be booked by the Wold Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) who are kindly supporting this event. Flights will be booked on the basis that delegates are arriving in Geneva on 16th May and departing on 22nd May.
WISH will book accommodation for all delegates in Geneva on the basis that they are checking in on 16th May 2019 and checking out on 22nd May. Accommodation and feeding for all the delegates will be booked and take care of accordingly. Let's join hands and celebrate our own young nurse and wish him success in this task given to him.
