King nursing graduates achieve 100 percent pass rate following program restructure
Date Posted: 15/Mar/2019
After admissions to the King University nursing program resumed last year, the school announced that the main campus program's 30 graduates achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the national licensure exam for registered nurses.

This comes following the program's restructuring which was largely due to the declining first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses. King halted admissions in October 2016 and the Tennessee Board of Nursing (TBON) placed the program on conditional approval status in February 2017.

Admissions resumed for the fall 2018 semester after TBON reinstated full approval to the program.

"This tremendous success is indicative of the academic strength of King's recently restructured BSN program and the extraordinary quality of its people," King president Alexander Whitaker said. "The comprehensive improvements implemented have positioned King's nursing graduates to successfully transition from the classroom to the workplace while also ensuring they are well prepared to deliver exceptional patient care in our region and beyond."
