CIHSR College of Nursing Graduation Exercise
Date Posted: 23/Mar/2019
Around 116 students of nursing, Allied Health Services (AHS), and Diploma in National Board (DNB) students graduated at the 3rd graduation exercise of the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) College of Nursing on Friday evening.

Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, Dr. Pardeshi Lal, who addressed graduates as the chief guest, spoke on the four goals that the world will seek to address in the near future: ‘food for all,’ ‘health for all’, ‘good climate for all’, and the last goal will be to invest in actions which will have a direct bearing on social relevance and developing requisite expertise.

Referring to the batch of graduates as “shaped products from a micro world called CIHSR”, Dr. Lal reminded them that they were at the threshold of a macro world outside the confines of their institute.

Director of CIHSR, Dr. Sedevi Angami, who delivered the welcome address, said that the graduates choosing to study in the institute was “not by accident but a responsibility entrusted on them.” He pointed out an encouraging sign of how students who graduated from the CIHSR college of nursing were at par with, and even outshining other students from other institutes. “There have been reasonably good reports of students who have graduated from CIHSR,” he stated.

Principal of CIHSR college of nursing, Dr. Christy Simpson, in her charge to the new batch of graduates urged them to never give on their dreams and to serve with integrity and passion remembering the college motto ‘Strive, nurture and transform.”

The other highlights of the program included: procession of the graduates; invocation prayer by deputy director, Dr. Viu Mero; pledge administered to the graduates by Dr. Keith Ingty; distribution of certificates, merit certificates and awards for academic excellence; response from the graduates by Kenei-u Penyu and Rokovivonuo; vote of thanks by medical superintendent, Dr. Clement Momin; song by nursing and AHS students; institutional song; and benediction by chaplain, Aonuktsung Imchen.
