The National Association Of Nigeria Nurse and Midwives (NANNM) Cross Rivers State Council has in a letter witten to all Unit Chairmen and Secretaries dated 8th of March 2017 suspended its ongoing indefinite strike.
Signed by its State Chairman Ojong Ogar and the State Secretary David Ezugwu and titled: "SUSPENSION OF THE ONGOING INDEFINITE STRIKE" the letter reads as follows:
Sequel to the decision of the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held on 8th March, 2017. We have the directives to inform you that the ongoing industrial actions by our members have been suspended.
You are therefore directed to resume normal duties from 9th March, 2017 (Thursday).
We wish to thank all our members for their support and solidarity.
The Association also expresses her gratitude to all that showed great concern on the strike by her members especially the Hon. Commissioner for Health, the DG. Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, the State Head of Service, the Cross River State House of Assembly, NLC, His Excellency, the deputy Governor Prof. lvara Esu, the media, and finally His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, the Executive Governor of Cross River State.
