Nurse Mahmood Mustapha has been named the winner of the Justina Ejelonu Scholarship for Nurses for the Month of March 2015. Mahmood Mustapha a student of the school of Nursing, Abubakar Tafawa Belewa University teaching hospital beat his colleagues Ibrahim Bappate and Haruna Ashiru to the award.
Among the three students that applied, Mahmood Mustapha having the highest CGPA of above 4 was selected for the scholarship award of N50,000. Danladi Joshua Koptala and Babayo ElRahusa both of whom are ATBUTH staff nurses anchored the award presentation on behalf of Nursingworld Nigeria.

Dignitaries who graced the event held at the school conference hall were Malam Aliyu Idris (the Bauchi state director of nursing services), Malam Adamu Ahmadu (director of school, Bauchi state school of nursing), Mr Jacob Bulus (deputy director academics, Bauchi state school of nursing) and Mr Musa Alhaji (a tutor with the school) among other staff members.
Speaking at the Event, Danladi Joshua Koptala gave a brief info on Nursingworld Nigeria and the reason for the JEMS award for student nurses. He expressed his dismay as only a few students are aware of the Nursing world website. He encouraged students that instead of chatting away their valuable time with friends, They should use their "big" phones surfing educative sites like the Nursingworld Nigeria as every info ranging from the sale of admission forms into basic and post basic nursing programmes across Nigeria, Training programs like the American heart association BLS programmes, MCPD programmes, Educative nursing articles, Nursing news, Nursing Job vacancies and many more can be found on the site.
The DNS Bauchi state Malam Aliyu Idris, in his brief and encouraging speech, said he was delighted with Nursingworld Nigeria for it's kind gesture of boosting students morale to keep striving hard in their academic pursuit by the scholarship award. He further said the students should pick up the challenge in what had happened.
The director of school, Bauchi state school of nursing, Malam Adamu Ahmadu said "there is a need for the students to be computer-literate to enable them keep abreast with the fast-changing modern nursing practice. He expressed his sadness in the fact that nurses generally are "afraid" of the computer, which should not be. The deputy director, Mr Jacob Bulus concluded by saying that he believes better packages will come if the students will work harder. He expressed his gratitude to Nursingworld Nigeria for thier efforts to encourage academic excellence amonsgst students.
The award was then handed over to the director by Babayo ElRahusa who then made the official presentation to the recipient Mahmood Mustapha in the presence of other students.
Nursing students are encouraged to apply for the scholarship as it runs monthly and remains open till December 2015.
