Friends and families alike have described the death of notable nurse, Mrs. Rebecca Omowunmi Akinsete, as a great loss to the family, the medical profession and the society.
Until her death on September 24, 2012, she was the wife of renowned consultant ophthalmologist and former Chairman of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna, Chief Olaseinde Akinsete.
Sympathisers, who thronged the family house at Balarabe Musa Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, described her death as sudden and a shock because, according to them, she was strong and did not show any sign of ill-health sick before her death.
Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Chief Joseph Sanusi, who was on hand to commiserate with the family, described the deceased as a virtuous woman.
Sanusi said: “I knew Mrs. Akinsete through her daughter, Mrs. Akande, who was our secretary at Standard Chartered Bank. She is a great daughter. I am always impressed with her upbringing and I believe she must have come from a great mother who had put so much into her upbringing that makes her so dignifying, respectable, responsible and hardworking.
